Continued Safety Commitment

We are excited to get back to enjoying the mountains we love.

For 47-years, we have prioritized the safety of our guests, staff, and local community while also providing the pinnacle guided helicopter skiing experience. Our commitment to safety continues this season as we monitor Covid-19. We have prepared thorough, adaptable operations plans that are consistent with the Utah Department of Health and follow the National Ski Areas Association’s Ski Well, Be Well best practices in order to keep everyone healthy and safe while skiing backcountry terrain in Utah.

guiding Principles.

The Powderbird helicopter ski & riding experience in the Utah backcountry provides a natural physically distant experience. With this in mind, and as we make enhancements to our operations this season, we have two driving principles.

- First is our steadfast commitment to protect the wellbeing & safety of our guests and employees.
- Second is our desire to ensure the longevity of the season.

20/21 winter operations update.

The experiences we share with our loved ones in the outdoors make us stronger and healthier, making the mountains more important than ever. That is why we are taking action to ensure a great season and protect the wellbeing of everyone at Powderbird. Policies are subject to change as the situation & regulations develop.

LIMITED CAPACITY OF guests in facilities
+
We will stagger the arrival and check-in times for each group to minimize the number of guests within our facilities. Tables and chairs have been removed and rearranged within our heliport and clubhouse to ensure physical distancing between groups while enjoying breakfast and lunch. We will provide an option for lunch in the field, and groups' will have the ability to request and reserve indoor lunchtimes.
straight to the helicopter option
+
Groups can request to arrive directly at the helicopter and skip entering our facilities.
daily staff & guest temperature & symptom checks
+
Each Powderbird staff member and all guests will be required to pass a daily symptom and temperature test before entering Powderbird facilities.
daily sanitization of equipment & surfaces
+
We have implemented thorough cleaning checklists, and will routinely clean bathrooms, lobby surfaces, as well as high touch areas Twice Daily. Each Powderbird vehicle is equipped with sanitizing supplies, as well as masks and thermometer for symptom checks.
CONTACTLESS PAYMENT & CHECK-IN PROCESSES
+
We have streamlined our payment and check-in processes to allow guests to complete check-in and pay their balance on their own mobile devices.
FACE COVERINGS
+
Face coverings are required for staff and guests when in our facilities while riding in the helicopter and when physical distancing is not possible. Please note: As per a Summit County Public Health Order, single-layer face coverings that can be seen through (such as buffs) and face coverings with two-way valves are not approved. N-95 or KN-95 masks with valves are approved for use. Guests unwilling to comply with the Summit County Order and Powderbird guidelines will be asked to leave Powderbird property without receiving a refund for the reservation.
