about
powderbird

since 1973

Founded in 1973 as one of the world’s first helicopter skiing operators, Powderbird has grown into a premier year-round Utah & international guide service.

Today, Powderbird provides premier single day and multi-day lodging packages. Our helicopter skiing/riding adventures depart daily from our heliport at Snowbird and our clubhouse in Park City.

the adventure continues

Powderbird continues operations as the only permitted helicopter ski outfitter in Utah. We have expanded our operations to offer our guests two convenient facilities located at the base of Snowbird Resort and near Park City, Utah. We also have multiple high performance aircraft, a team of world-class guides and helicopter operations around the world. Whether you are interested in our world famous Utah operation, exploring the arctic mountains of Greenland or joining us on one of our discover destinations abroad; Powderbird has the team and the experience to make your powder dreams a reality.

ski every day - guaranteed

Lake effect storms bring us our coveted Utah powder. Even when the big flakes are falling and helicopters aren’t flying, Powderbird guests are delivered the goods through our exciting weather day programs. These include two Snowcat skiing operations and exclusive side door Tram and Lift access at Snowbird with our guides at Powderbird.

No matter what Mother Nature decides to deliver you’ll have access to the best powder skiing Utah has to offer!

the most accessible

Powderbird bases are nestled in the beautiful Wasatch Mountain Range surrounded by an abundance of world class ski resorts. Remarkably, these locations are a mere 45 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport where direct flights from London, Paris, Amsterdam, Tokyo, Los Angeles, and New York arrive everyday. With Salt Lake nearby, a day gliding through powder in the mountains can easily be capped off with fine dining or an NBA game in the valley!
