Payment information

Our reservation and cancellation policies are standard in the helicopter skiing industry. We must make significant financial commitments in the summer to our dedicated aviation partners, word-class helicopter ski guides, fuel, food, and facilities.

deposits

Powderbird to collect the full payment for online reservations at the time of booking. If you would prefer to pay only a deposit for any reservation outside of 30 days, please call the Powderbird office at 801-742-2800. Within 30 days the reservation must be paid in full to be confirmed.

weather days & Refunds

Powderbird is dedicated to providing you the pinnacle of guided helicopter skiing and mountain adventures. We aim to ski every single day, to maximize time on the snow and in the mountains.  In the event we cannot fly due to weather or safety concerns, Powderbird will refund up to $1300 and provide our guests with either an in-resort guided day at Snowbird or cat-skiing if the conditions permit.

Additionally, guests have the following options:
-Leave the remaining balance on the account to be used by the end of the next year.
-Resort skiing at Snowbird ($300 total); leave the remainder on account or receive a refund.
-Cat ski with Powderbird ($600 total); leave the remainder on account or receive a refund.
-The $300 may be waived if we move the guests to fill our schedule's open capacity.

- Powderbird to retain $300 and receive a refund of the remaining balance on a Single Day product.​
-Powderbird to retain $600 and receive a refund of the remaining balance on Semi-Private product.​
-Powderbird to retain $1,600 and receive a refund of the remaining balance on Private product.​​

Guests can request a refund of the remaining balance anytime until the full payment expires at the end of the following season. If the guest doesn't choose to renew the payment or request a refund, the full payment will be collected.

cancellations

Any cancellation on the guests end within the 30 day window of the reservation will result in a loss of the $500 deposit.  Any cancellation within 24 hours of the reservation will result in a loss of all fees paid.

Weight policy

It is very important that we have accurate client weights in the helicopter. Loads are based on the weight you give us. You will be weighed on the day of participation. Please be accurate because if your weight differs significantly from the weight you give us you may be declined participation yet still be responsible for the price of the seat.

Sometimes the total weight of a group may preclude group members from flying together in the same load. Although every member of your group may not fly together we will make every effort to allow you to ski together.

We often pair heavy skiers with lighter individuals to minimize the total load weight in the helicopter.

Groups comprised of all large individuals and individuals over 230 pounds may not be able to be sufficiently paired and should be prepared to pay for all or a portion of an additional seat.

Single Seat Terms

Individuals or groups can purchase guaranteed reservations for skiing on specific dates on a ‘first come, first served’ basis. On days we cannot fly due to weather, Powderbird will collect a $200 booking fee and the remaining balance will be refunded. This ensures that Powderbird can guarantee you a ski experience no matter the weather. Reservations require a $500 per seat deposit with full payment 30 days prior to reservation date. If you cancel for any reason, you will be subject to cancellation fees. For seats canceled within 30 days $500 per seat is forfeited. Cancellations within 48 hours of flight, no shows, or those who do not complete the full day regardless of circumstances will be charged the full price plus the cost of the fly in.

You will be required to remain available to participate until noon on the day of your reservation or be subject to cancellation fees. Rates are based on a seven flight day. On weather shortened days you will be charged only for the flights taken. If we are unable to fly on your date you may transfer your deposit to any future available date or request a partial refund.

Semi-private Terms

Private Groups are charged per flight hour used with a minimum of 1.0 helicopter flight hours per load / per day. You will be responsible only for the helicopter time used by or on behalf of your group. A $3000 deposit per day is required at time of booking. Full payment is due 30 days in advance of reserved date. Cancellations more than 30 days prior to flight can request a full refund, between 30 days and 7 days before flight you will be charged $3,000 per day, and within 7 days you will be charged the per load minimum for your day.

private helicopter Terms

Charter Helicopters are charged per flight hour used with a minimum of 2.0 hours. Clients are responsible for the payment of all helicopter time incurred by the operation for the day, including time used to ski, shuttle the helicopter, and/or explosive testing, etc. Reservations can be secured with a $3,000 deposit with full payment of minimum hours due 30 days prior to flight. Cancellations more than 30 days prior to flight can request a full refund, between 30 days and 7 days before flight you will be charged $3,000 per day, and within 7 days you will be charged the per load minimum for your day.
