Since 1973 the United States Forest Service has authorized Wasatch Powderbird Guides the exclusive rights for guided helicopter skiing on the Wasatch / Cache and Uinta National Forests. Periodically the Forest Service reviews the environmental and social aspects of WPG activities and issues a Special Use Permit with terms that minimize impacts on wildlife and other forest visitors.
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of the United States Forest Service, while heli skiing with WPG, you will be recreating on your national forest with assurance that these activities cause no harm to the environment and minimize the disturbance of others. |

Beginning
with the 2005-2006 season WPG will be operating under a new Permit that
allows the continuation of this very popular form of winter
recreation for years to come. Mitigation measures and specific operating
conditions are included in this permit that help to protect resident
wildlife, such as nesting Golden eagles, and that provide recreational
opportunities
for other back country users.
